Ministry Descriptions

Assistance Office

Case workers who help individuals with everyday needs by referring them to various ministries available in our community and doing paperwork.

Baptism

Members who help those being baptized with instructions.

Bereavement

Helpers with calling for food, work in the kitchen and setting up fellowship hall to prepare for a funeral meal for family and friends of the deceased.

Breast Cancer

A ministry to our community for those ladies diagnosed with breast cancer who have special needs that can be met free of charge.

Bulletin

Helpers nicknamed, "Faithful Folders," that fold Sunday morning church bulletins.

Card

People that send cards to those who are ill, in nursing homes, shut-ins, birthdays, etc.

Clothes Closet

A ministry that provides clothes to those in need. It involves folding, stacking, and preparing bags for Next Step Ministry.

Counting Team

People who have financial skills to count FBCA offerings and produce offering reports, fill out deposit slips for the church financial office.

Crafting With A Purpose

People who make crafts to deliver on visitation of any kind.

Data Entry

People who record contacts and updates our member data base.

Deacons

Men who are members that are voted on by the church, ordained and assist the Pastor in serving the needs of the church membership.

Decorating

People who decorate for occasions in the fellowship hall and church events.

Eldercare

Visiting, calling, writing cards or taking meals to members who are 70 years old+ and are in nursing homes, shut-in or sick.

Food/Meals

Providing meals to members who are under 70 years of age who might be returning home from the hospital or are very ill.

Food Pantry

People who keep the pantry stocked and pass out non-perishable food bags to the home at Next Step Ministry and as needed.

Hospitality

People who greet, welcome, open doors, man the welcome center for attendees and visitors.

Ladies Crafting Day

Ladies fellowship and devotion time while working on special crafts with the Pastor's wife at their home.

Lord's Supper

People that prepare and inventory Lord's Supper elements for worship services.

Men

People who organize specific social events for the men of FBCA.

Mentors

People that mentor high school students through the Horizon Scholarship Program of Valencia College.

Next Step

Volunteers on Monday evenings serving the homeless with hot meals, showers, haircuts, clothes, Gospel message and friendship.

People who meet with the Senior Pastor once a month to pray over requests submitted by members and FBCA.

Security

People committed to keeping FBCA safe and secure.

Set-Up/Break Down Team

People willing to set up chairs, tables and other items for church events or worship services.

Spanish

People providing opportunities for our Spanish-speaking members and guests to participate and listen to the worship services in the Spanish language.

People who reach out to visitors of FBCA or members who request a visit.

Wedding/Funeral

People who help families plan weddings or funerals at FBCA.

Wednesday Night Dinner

People who help prepare and serve dinners for members on Wednesday evenings before activities. They have a nickname called "The Grub Hub Gang".

Young At Heart

This is an older single adult group that enjoy fellowship and activities together once a month.
